Woodbridge School Marine Discovery Centre

We provide Tasmanian school students the opportunity to learn about marine ecosystems, marine science and the importance of the marine environment.

We provide Tasmanian school students the opportunity to learn about marine ecosystems, marine science and the importance of the marine environment.
The Centre is a Tasmanian Department of Education facility. We welcome both government and non-government school students from Kindergarten to year 12, as well as childcare centres, tertiary students and community organisations.

School groups from around Tasmania visit for a day or more and all activities are planned and run by Woodbridge School primary and secondary teachers based at the Centre. Activities are designed to allow students to develop scientific knowledge, understanding and skills related to the marine environment.

Public visits:
The Centre is generally closed to the public due to the number of visiting classes, however we do open for public viewing of the Centre every Wednesdays from 2:15 to 4:00 during government school terms. Volunteers are on hand to guide visitors around the Centre and we ask for a small donation upon entry.
